Love

My husband and I watched Fireproof the other night for the second time, an awesome, inspired movie, and I happened to hear the song during the scrolling of the credits and one song caught my heart.  Love is not a fight, I’ll post the lyrics below, but the line that I finally heard was that each time we try to leave may God send angels to guard the door.

How can we fully express the love and care God has for our lives?  On many occasions He steps in to keep us from heartache and disappointment.  We see the right now moment and He sees eternity.  I wanted to share these lyrics and I pray that it is an answer to someone’s trouble today.

Love Is Not A Fight
Warren Barfield

Love is not a place
to come and go as we please
It's a house we enter in
then commit to never leave

So lock the door behind you
Throw away the key
Work it out together
Let it bring us to our knees

Love is a shelter
in a raging storm
Love is peace
in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave;
May God send angels to guard the door
No, Love is not a fight
but its something worth fighting for

To some love is a word
that they can fall into.
But when they're falling out
keeping that word is hard to do

Love is a shelter
in a raging storm
Love is peace
in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave;
May God send angels to guard the door
No, Love is not a fight
but its something worth fighting for

Love will come to save us
If we'll only call
He will ask nothing from us
but demand we give our all

Love is a shelter
in a raging storm
Love is peace
in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave;
May God send angels to guard the door
No, Love is not a fight
but its something worth fighting for.

Cause I Will Fight For You
Would You Fight For Me
It's Worth Fighting For.

Counseling

At what point do you say I need help?  When we acknowledge that we need help is when we begin to see that there is a way out.  We just needed to be ready to receive the solution.

During my counseling class I realized something that released me to help others.  That I don't need to "own" the person's problem that they are presenting to me and in doing that I am free to listen as long as necessary to allow the client or one speaking to come to a solution they are willing to live with.   I am there to assist and facilitate with resources and tools that can be used to bring success to those involved.

Also not using the tool of counseling as a punishment for correction but as a resource to restore God's intended purpose for the individual's life.

Until next time, be blessed.
